CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

Racers are awarded Championship points relevant to their place/achievement in the 8 regular season rounds of the Championship prior the Grand Final (see below points table).

Racers can carry Championship points into the Grand Final. This total is the sum of their four (4) best point scoring rounds from the regular season events. No cap applies.

Racers then earn final Championship points in the Grand Final.

The racer with the highest Championship point score in their bracket at the conclusion of the Grand Final will be declared the NDRC Aeroflow Sportsman Series Champion.

Racers do not need to attend the Grand Final to be crowned Champion if their Championship points tally is high enough prior to the Grand Final to guarantee them the Championship.

BONUS POINTS

Limited bonus points are available for Group 2/Performance only.

Group 2/Performance

  • Bonus points can be earned by setting an ET record by Group 2/Performance during the season and will be added to the racer’s Championship points total of their best four rounds (see Rules and Regulations for more detail)

Racers earn Championship Points at all rounds including the Grand Final. Points allocated for each Event are listed in the tables below according to the racing format.

POINTS STRUCTURE

There are three points systems used in the Championship:

  1. All-Run Format Event Standing Points
  2. Elimination Format Event Standing Points
  3. Championship Points – awarded at the conclusion of the Finals

The application of these points is outlined below.

EVENT STANDING POINTS – ALL-RUN FORMAT

When competing in the All Run Format (ARF), Event Standing Points are used to determine the A, B, C and D finalists. These points do not contribute to Championship Points.

The NDRC will award Event Standing Points for ARF Round One and ARF Round Two based on the following:

WIN/LOSE POINTS – Points are awarded to competitors based on the outcome of each pairing.

ET POINTS – Points are awarded based on ET, ranked from quickest to slowest, for the 8 quickest racers in each bracket at the event

ELIMINATION FORMAT

If Elimination format is used, the standard elimination format applies (see Rules and Regulations).

CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

Championship Points are awarded at the conclusion of each event based solely on each racer’s place/achievement in each event including the Grand Final.

No ARF Event Standing Points are applied to Championship Points, and no other additional bonus points are available to racers.
