A new XPRO Nitro Funny Car livery is ready to hit the Australian drag strip, with XBOX and Rocket Industries unveiling a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day design that brings one of gaming’s most iconic and battle-hardened franchises into the heart of the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC).
For nearly two decades, Gears of War has stood as a defining XBOX franchise, known for its larger-than-life action and intensity. Now, that energy is roaring down the drag strip in the most outrageous machine on wheels, a Nitro Funny Car unleashing over 11,000 horsepower and launching from 0 to 500 km/h in under four seconds with the force of a rocket.
Behind the wheel of the custom-wrapped car is 2024 national champion and record holder Justin Walshe, competing in the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC). This year at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs, Walshe set the NDRC Nitro Funny Car Speed Record with a blistering 525.79 km/h pass, the fastest ever recorded in Australia.
Created in collaboration with Rocket Industries, this striking livery celebrates the upcoming release of Gears of War: E-Day and gives fans a new way to experience the game.
Gears of War: E-Day takes players back to Emergence Day, a story of brotherhood, survival, and humanity’s first encounter with the Locust Horde. Through its partnership with Rocket Industries, the franchise’s signature intensity finds a real-world expression in the thunderous power, spectacle, and adrenaline of Nitro Funny Car.

The car will make its competitive debut at the Haltech East Coast Nationals at Sydney Dragway on 26 and 27 September before heading to Adelaide’s Spry Spring Nationals at The Bend from 22 to 25 October.

The Haltech East Coast Nationals at Sydney Dragway on 26 and 27 September hosts the penultimate round of the 2026 NDRC Pro Stock Championship, alongside BLAHST Top Fuel, XPRO Nitro Funny Car, Top Doorslammer and Pro Mod. The Aeroflow Sportsman Championship will also be in action.
