Pro Stock and McGrath Foundation Join Forces To Turn Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs Pink For Cancer

The Australian Pro Stock Owners Association, alongside the National Drag Racing Championship, is proud to announce a new initiative in support of the McGrath Foundation at this year’s Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs.

Across the event, the Pro Stock category will unite behind the McGrath Foundation to deliver a dedicated Pink Round, bringing together teams, competitors and fans in support of families experiencing cancer.

This initiative is not only about raising awareness and vital funds but also about recognising the impact cancer continues to have within our own community.

Hayley Turns was a valued and much-loved member of the Pro Stock community, a constant presence in the pits and someone who gave so much to those around her. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Hayley’s passing has left a lasting impact on the category.

This Pink Round is dedicated to her, as well as other Pro Stock teams and the many racers, crew members and families within our community who are currently facing, or have been affected by, cancer.

Through this initiative, Pro Stock aims to help ensure more Australians have access to the care of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse, something that makes a real difference to individuals and families facing cancer.

The McGrath Foundation exists to make sure that no one goes through cancer without the support of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse. These nurses provide clinical, emotional and psychosocial care to people with any type of cancer, supporting not only patients but also their families throughout treatment.

With hundreds of nurses working in communities across the country, the Foundation continues to play a critical role in the Australian healthcare landscape. However, with close to one in two Australians likely to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, the need for this support continues to grow.

Through the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs, Pro Stock will use one of the biggest stages in Australian drag racing to contribute to that mission.

Fans attending the event will see the category come to life in pink across the weekend, with teams and crews getting behind the cause and encouraging the wider motorsport community to do the same.

Supporters are encouraged to wear pink on Saturday and Sunday, helping to create a strong visual show of unity while raising awareness for the Foundation’s work.

Off track, fundraising efforts will include a silent auction and fan engagement opportunities, giving spectators the chance to contribute directly to the cause.

At its core, this initiative is about coming together for something bigger than racing, using the platform of the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs to raise awareness, support those in need, and honour those who have been impacted.

Further announcements around fundraising activities and ways to get involved will be made in the lead up to the event.
